Your Website Is a Salesperson That Works 24/7
Think of your website as your best salesperson. Now imagine that salesperson takes 8 seconds to respond when someone asks a question, cannot explain what you do in plain language, looks unprofessional on a mobile phone, and never asks for the sale. You would fire that salesperson. But most businesses keep their broken websites running for years.
At MKSON WORLD, web design is not about making something that looks pretty. It is about building a machine that turns visitors into enquiries and enquiries into revenue. Here are the five biggest problems we see on Indian business websites — and how we fix them.
Problem 1: Slow Page Speed
The average Indian mobile user will abandon a page that takes more than 3 seconds to load. Yet most Indian business websites take 6-12 seconds to load on mobile. The causes are usually the same: uncompressed images, no content delivery network (CDN), shared hosting with poor server response times, and bloated page builders.
Fix: Compress all images (use WebP format), move to a quality managed hosting provider, implement a CDN, and minimise JavaScript. These changes alone typically improve load times by 50-70%.
Problem 2: No Clear Value Proposition
Visitors arrive on your homepage with one question: "Can this company help me?" If your headline does not answer that question in under 5 seconds, they leave. We see too many Indian business websites with hero sections that say "Welcome to ABC Solutions" or "Your trusted partner since 2005" — phrases that mean nothing to a new visitor.
Fix: Your headline should state what you do, for whom, and what outcome they get. "We help Mumbai-based restaurants increase table bookings by 40% with targeted digital marketing" is infinitely better than "Digital Marketing Excellence."
Problem 3: Not Mobile-First
Over 75% of web traffic in India comes from mobile devices. Yet many Indian business websites are built for desktop and "responsive" only as an afterthought. Tiny buttons, overlapping text, horizontal scrolling — these are conversion killers on mobile.
Fix: Design mobile-first, then adapt for desktop. Every CTA button should be at least 44x44 pixels. Font size should be minimum 16px. Test on actual Android devices, not just browser emulators.
Problem 4: Weak or Missing Calls-to-Action
A website without clear CTAs is like a shop with no checkout counter. We see Indian business websites with contact information buried in the footer, no WhatsApp button, no lead capture forms, and service pages that end with nothing. Every page should have one primary CTA and one secondary CTA.
Fix: Add sticky WhatsApp buttons (essential for Indian audiences), place enquiry forms above the fold on service pages, and use action-oriented CTA text like "Get a Free Quote" instead of "Contact Us."
Problem 5: No Trust Signals
Indian buyers are cautious. They want proof before they contact you. Trust signals include client logos, testimonials with photos and names, case studies, certifications, media mentions, and team photos. A website without these signals loses sales to competitors who have them.
Fix: Add a dedicated testimonials section with video testimonials where possible. Display your Google reviews count and rating prominently. Show real team photos, not stock images.
